Password protect was created by Christopher Malley
Hi,

Is it possible to password protect a download? We offer pre-tests for some of our events and only want those that have paid to be able to access the files. I know we can do it by permission, but having a password would allow us to periodically change the password for security.

I have seen other extensions that can do this, but I do not want to get away from EDocman.

Thanks

Here is one:

extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extensi...oads/extrodownloads/

I like the feature of agreeing to the license. If you had this feature it should be per document.

Also, sometimes we want to make a folder/category password protected as there may be many documents in the folder/category that we want a user to access.

Is this something that could be added in the future?

I would also request that passwords have an expiration date so that they do not end up in the wild. You could set up passwords much like the coupon codes but per document.

I just updated and I now see the password option.

When I have a password, the site asks for it when I click download. When I click to view it is not password protected.

I would also suggest a new tab on the back end to set multiple passwords with enabled, disabled dates much like coupons in events booking.
