Applying a discount to products

Hi

I would like to apply a fixed amount discount to products. I have tried doing this by using Coupons, discounts and specials.

I like the way the coupon applies the discount amount within the cart, but it does not seem to apply to individual items. For example, the coupon applies the same amount whether 1 item or 10 items are being purchased.

I can get the discount process working, but I don't like the way the discount price appears beside the normal price in the category view (see screen shot) - it simply lists 2 prices and doesn't make it clear that one is a discounted price. Then within the cart, the discount price in listed. This is ok, but I guess it would be better for the customer if it was clear that a discount or special price was being provided.

My question ....... can a coupon apply to multiple items in a single purchase or can a discount price be highlighted so it is clear to the customer that it is a discounted price?

Hello Steven,
The coupons should be only assigned to order. In this your case, using discounts or specials is good. In EShop, once a product has discounted or special price, then old price should has a line-through style with red color. I don't know why on your site it does not have that. It is only a CSS issue. I can help you to add this.
Please look at the attachment. It should look like there so customer will not confused. Do you see?

I had the special price being applied and working for 12 products (apart from the CSS issue identified in previous post). However, for some reason, it has stopped working and reverted back to the normal price. I am unaware of any changes I made to cause this.

I will submit a ticket with admin details ........ I am hoping you will be able to have a look for me.

That because you didn't choose Default customer group in the configuration of EShop. I have just done that for you and the special price is displaying well now.
I also make some style change so it look better now.
