Category Placeholder? was created by hjames
Would it be possible in an upcoming release to add an option to categories to be placeholders for subcategories and not be selectable at all?
Thank you
James

Hi James
I don't really understand your requirement. Could you please explain more details about it?

Currently we have the ability to have Parent and Child categories.
In the case of my site I dont want the Parent Categories to be selectable when someone is submitting an event on the frontend.
For example I have two classifications of events, Adult and Kids and each of those have their own sub categories. How do I make it so that Adult and Kids are not selectable?

Hi James
This option, unfortunately, not being supported in Events Booking. So if you really need it, you will have to customize the code yourself to implement this option
I will see if there are more customers need it, if there is, I will try to add support for it in the future
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
Theres is actually a case use for that where the Parent categories are not allowed to be selected when creating an event. JEvents has that feature:
take.ms/Sm3Br
Thanks,
Jackson

Thanks for the info. If I implement it, I would add a setting to category itself instead of just to top levels like that.
