Color-code events in the calendar grid view, based on category?

I'd like to be able to assign a color to each category (doesn't need to be within the admin interface), and then display the events as color-coded within the grid calendar view. Any way to accomplish that?

That should be supported out of the box. When you create/edit a category, you can choose the color you want and that color will be used as background color of events from that category in the calendar
