open dates was created by jeff
Hi, we have a course which we want to make available on our website which has an open date. this course is available at any time and is continually available so does not have a start date or finish date. How can we acheive this?

Hi Jeff
For this kind of course, you just need to set Event Date to this special date 2099-12-31 00:00:00 and it should work fine

yes thank you Tuan, the problem with that is when people see that date they think "I can't wait that long for this course, I want to do it NOW" is there some way of perhaps hiding the event date start & finish?

Hi Jeff
When the event is displayed, the system won't display that date. It will display something like To be determined on the event date information (You can change the text to what you want)
I believe it would solve your concern

Hi Jeff
For these kind of events, just leave event end date and cut off date empty (don't select a date for these fields) and it should work fine

You only need to select a date for Event Start Date, not Event End Date or Cut Off Date
Could you please select a date for event start date, then try to save the event?

yes, thank you. that works.
When I go to register, in the details page, where it says "Event Date" - it says 'to be confirmed' - can I change this text? if so, where do I change it?

Yes you can. Go to Events Booking -> Translation, find the language item EB_TBC, change it to meet your need
