OpenStreetMap

Hi!

Many clients prefer OoenStreetMap over GoogleMaps since they started to offer their service as a paid service.

I appreciate that EB has 2 options to choose from, but I miss some features.

First, I am not able to pinpoint the marker exactly on the venue, because marker is not moveable on the displayed OpenStreet map
Second, I miss a module displaying the events on a OpenStreet map, like the Google Maps module

Just there something planned for the future?

1. I will try to make the marker movable in the future

2. For displaying events in map, you just need to publish and use Events Booking - Google Map module. When you use OpenStreetMap, that module will display events in OpenStreetMap instead of in Google Map

I tried before using the Google Maps module, but possibly I made something wrong. It is working like You described in this post.

One great feature of Goggle Maps was, that it automatically zoomed in or out to display all published events (at least in RSEvents, which I used before Your component). Would be great to get this feature in Your module; if possible for Goigle Maps and OpenStreet.

Hi I would like to know how to plot a position in OSM index.php?option=com_eventbooking&view=locations - the marker can't be dragged and it wont recognise addresses and autoplot the location - is the only method to use GPS co-ords? This would be beyond the technical ability of 99% of my clients. Thanks

Any plans on improving the OSM integration - clients are saying its difficult to use compared to google maps but it would be simple if the mapping icon was draggable. Thanks

Creating new locations is almost impossible. I have to use Google Maps to get coordinates which I then insert into EB coordinates field

Still haven't had time to look at it right away. However, I added it as one of the item in my todo list. I need to work on few other improvements first, then I will work on this one. Will update you when it's implemented
