Membership Pro version 2.9.0 released

Dear customers

Today, I am happy to announce the next release of Membership Pro, version 2.9.0. This version brings the follow improvements to the extension:

1. Improve coupons : Allow assign coupon to multiple plans

2. Improve Joomla Group Plugin: Add an option to allow remove subscribers from a certain group (for example Expired Members) when they subscribe for a plan.

3. Add some menu options to allow accessing to restricted resources easier (via menu items instead of via Membership Profile)

- My Pages (which display list of restricted URLs)
- My Documents (which allows access and download avaialble documents for the subscription)

4. Some other small improvements:
- Add [PAYMENT_METHOD] tag support for reminder email
- Allow entering title of the page for URL restriction plugin
- Add subscription upgrade message for offline payment method
- Add a new config option to allow showing forgot username and password links on subscription form

* Bug fixed
- Fixed sending reminder emails issue when it is used to send reminder after subscription expired
- Fix some incompatible issues with Joomla 3.7.0

Please update your site to this latest version of Membership Pro to use these new features + have most stable version on your site

For that feature, I decide to leave it to next major release 3.0.0 which I will start the development soon. In that new version, I want to modernize the code base, prepare for future releases of Joomla (Joomla 4) and address the limitation of the current version

That version will take sometime to implement thought, I am hoping to have it completed in 2 to 3 months

I would just ask, it this [TAX_RATE] tag that is already in Database, but not added to templating …if is already added in 2.9.0?

I'm unable to install this on either of my sites. Just to confirm, I should install "com_osmembership.zip" that is in the same folder as the Language Packages? When I try, it just gets hung up and never installs (on two different servers). Just need to confirm I am installing the correct folder. Thanks, Vicky

i had similar, in that the Joomla Installer page just hung as if it was installing but never gave me the complete install screen message. After a while, I selected F5 to refresh the page and then went to MembershipPro, where it said in the footer the version was now 2.9.0 and also the component stated that it was up to date.

I think this could be more of an issue with Joomla 3.7.1 itself maybe? Will soon see, when I install another extension shortly.

The install did eventually work. All is good. No reply needed. Not sure why it took so long and I did install the correct file. Sincerely, Vicky

[TAX_RATE] tag is now supported. You can use it in email messages and invoices. However, it will only works for subscription records which are created after 2.9.0 installed

For the records which were created before, the [TAX_RATE] tag won't return correct value (it will just be 0 because it was not stored in database before)

No, we haven't added support for it yet. Something for future releases, maybe 2.9.1 if there are enough requests

Otherwise, I will leave it to 3.0.0 (which will take about 2 or 3 months for the development as it contains architecture changes so that we can move forward with future releases of Joomla - Joomla 4 which will be released by the end of this year)
