How to propperly test with Paypall Sandbox?

Hi all

I`ve been reading a few things about the Paypal Sandbox. Still, I want to have it all clear as I do not think I`ve got it right.

In order to test the plans:
1) In developer.paypal.com / Sandbox, I`ve created a PERSONAL and a BUSINESS account with corresponding email addresses.
2) In the PayPal plugin I`ve set ( was already set ) PayPal mode --> test mode
3) In the PayPal plugin, I`ve set at Paypal Email field my sandbox BUSINESS account`s email
4) Tried to create a subscription ( for a new user ) with the sandbox PERSONAL account`s email
5) Now it seems ( not 100% sure ) that I was charged the cost of the subscription as it asked for all my cards details and i got a statement.

I suppose the setup for the sandbox is not correct.
Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Cosmin

Check the URL when you are being redirected to PayPal, is it www.sandbox.paypal.com ? if so, you should not being charged at all

Maybe for test mode, you should use our test PayPal account for testing:

1. Enter thucdam84-facilitator@yahoo.com into PayPal Email parameter of the payment plugin

2. When you subscribe and being redirected to PayPal for making payment, use this account thucdam84-buyer@yahoo.com/dangthucdam for making payment

I have noticed that Paypal created the accounts "facilitator" and "buyer" but did not know I had to use them. I`ll try with my credentials and if they will not work I`ll go for yours.

PS: I do not think my credit card was charged after all

OK Cosmin. It would be so strange if PayPal charges your credit card on test mode
