Stripe Plugin not sending receipt to customer

The Stripe plugin does not seem to send a receipt to the customer.
This is a very important part of the payment process.. I would have hoped it would have used the email field to do this.

What's the receipt you are talking about? Isn't Membership Pro already send confirmation email to subscriber about the payment?

Or you want to have another receipt send from Stripe directly as well? Please let me know so that we can check and give you the answer

Hi Tuan... Ah yes I was talking about having a receipt from Stripe... but I guess the confirmation mail from Membership Pro can do the same thing... that is, assuming that if the payment was declined they would get a not successful response... can you confirm that would happen?

If so I would agree the additional Stripe receipt email wouldn't be needed.

It might be a nice config option in the plugin though if it's possible to add that.

No, at the moment, Membership Pro won't send email if payment is declined

I will check Stripe documentation to see whether there is a parameter to allow sending receipt email as you said. If there is, I will modify the plugin and send the modified package to you

Might take two days or so

OK thanks - much appreciated. Yes Stripe should be capable of sending receipts to the customer as long as it is sent an email field.

In the 'Email & Messages' part of Membership Pro back-end there is a "Payment Failure" message. What are the circumstances when that would get sent?

It is not sent. It will be displayed to user when the payment is failed (for example, wrong credit card number...)

It will be displayed directly on web browser, not sending email

Ah yes ok I understand now. That makes sense. Thanks!

Still interested in the possibility for getting the official payment receipts sent from Stripe, but appreciate you have many other miracle making priorities! So understood, not high priority!
