The Joomla! OS Property developer team are proud to announce the release of OS Property 3.14.5. This is a eighth release for the 3.14.x series of OS Property with new big improvements and addresses issues introduced in previous versions.

What new in OS Property 3.14.5

1. Support OpenStreetMap
As you already knew, Google changed policy for their Google Map service. They now asking you to provide billing details while registering for Google Map API Key and might charge you if your API usage exceed the limit they allowed for free. If you worry about it, you can now configure to use OS Property with OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap is a collaborative project to create a free editable map of the world. So you won't need to register key or providing billing information to use it.
Here are some screenshot of OpenStreetMap in OS Property system

How to use OpenStreetMap in OS Property system
To use OpenStreetMap, please going to OS Property Configuration page -> Tab: General -> Map. Here you can select one of 2 options:
  • Open Street Map
  • Google Map

In case you want to use Google Map, you should enter Google Map API key and it is unnecessary wit OpenStreetMap.

Limitations
  • OpenStreetMap can be used to detect latitude and longitude coordiates of properties, but this function isn't good as Google Map. In some cases, OpenStreetMap can't find the coordinates of properties, in those case, you can use Drag & Drop the icon to correct property position to update coordinates.
  • Currently, the Locator search function only work on Google Map, we will find solution to implement it for OpenStreetMap in future.

2. Improve Agents Layout
In this version, we made some small changes in Agents listing layout like removing Map, improving Agents search ..etc

3. Some minor bugs fixed

Thanks
