Price box shrinks when currency converter changed

Hi,
I am trying to fix problems with both the currency converter itself and also the layout. Currency converter doesn't work - any option I select just changes to 0.
Regarding layout, is it possible to have the status, price and currency converter selector on the same line? See alignprice where the selector sits underneath.
Also, when I select any currency, as well as turning the value to zero, it squashes the price box (disappears off screen) see second image aftercurrencyselection. Is there a way to move these boxes and the currency selector to the same line - to use more of the available space so this 'squashing' doesn't happen?
