docman - link to protected document

Hello !
if we set some permission to a document in order to make it accessible for members, then, I presume, the login will be required, if document link is set in a public item.

but one the login entered, will the document be directly downloaded or member will be redirected to the document page, and then, will have to click on it to download it ?

in other words, from a public article, if we set a link to a protected document, do we have 1 or 2 steps :
1. login and download will strart automatically
2. login, redirect to doc page, and member will have to click again to start download ?

Edocman has function "Login to download", it means from documents list, user can login to download document directly. But from article, user will be redirected to Login form before they come back again to download document.

sorry to bother you but the is a requirement from my customer to be have the download starting directly after login (from link into an article). but still not clear if it is possible or not with your component. thx !

no answer here ? I'd prefer to buy your sistem, as I already bought events pro, but, if you cannot confirm what I requested, I'm afrais that I'l have to find another extension provider

Sorry for late response. I will explain my previous answer:
1. Edocman has "Edocman Content link" plugin, it is used to show download button with specific document. But this plugin will check Download permission of current user with the document, if user doesn't have permission to download document. The Download button won't show. The Download button will only show if user has permission to download the document.
2. You can put the link to download document directly. But if user doesn't have permission to download it, he (she) will be redirected to Login form (of Joomla). The document download popup will be shown as soon as he (she) logged in successfully.
After logging and downloading the document, user can back to article page to download other documents normally.

ho, you mean that the popup is the document itself (for a pdf for exemple) ? this is not a popup with a download button inside ! In that cas, I think this can work for my customer.
Just in case, can we do a refund if this does not suit to my customer needs ? thx for your help !
