Can you please confirm that event "Registrants" can be Joomla users? In other words, can registered Joomla users logon to the website for easier registration to an event (no additional fields to fill out for signing up).

Yes, I can confirm that. If I understand your requirement correctly, you want logged in users (who has account on your site) can register for the event without having to fill-in any information? If so, just need to go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Reduce Registration Process config option to Yes and it should work as expected
