Indexed PDF contents not searchable in J4

Hi Mr Dam,
My client has a vast store of pdfs accrued over a long period of time.
After the upgrade to J4, we moved them from old J3 search to J4 smart search.
The indexer does seem to work and Documents are  shown in the content map but their associated indexed content(of pdfs) does not seem to be accessible by smartsearch(finder).

What's not clear in eDocman info is whether I need to install and activate the docindexer plugin(currently active just in case) or just activate the smartsearch edocman plugin (which is also active).

Can you advise on EXACTLY what is needed to be able to properly search indexed pdfs through smartsearch.

Hi Mr Dam,
Of course, that's how I can see the eDocman documents showing in the content map in smart search.
We have also created various search filters but there are many, known documents that do not show up, even though we are using keywords from indexed pdf content.
