Backup and Sample Data

I need to transfer the data from a test site to a live site and I understand that it is not possible to backup and restore Eshop. Is it possible to put the data in a format where I can use the Install Sample Data tool? If so, where is the data for the Sample Data stored? At a minimum, I need the product and category information, including the associated images, description, etc.

Hello Mit,

Following are steps to move the data from old site to new site with latest version 2.3.0 of EShop:

1. Upgrade EShop on old site to latest version 2.3.0.
2. Install a fresh latest version 2.3.0 of EShop on new site.
3. Go to the database of old site to export data all of tables with prefix #__eshop_, then import into the database of new website.
4. For images, you just need to replace folder media/com_eshop/ in the new website by the same folder form old website.

That's all!
