EShop version 2.7.0 Short Codes in Short Desc

I added the {amazonWS:itemId=cccccccc} to the short description and description. I have an amazonws layout configured to use in the short desc. that will only show the image, no other information.
Why is the shortcode not rendering in the short description? It is not just amazon code. I tried shortcodes from other components. They work fine in the description field but not in the short description.

That's correct because we don't support the content plugin in the product short description now. We will add this in the next version of EShop.
