Discounts from multiple products was created by David Boggitt
Hi there,

I've got a friend's website that sells a few books. The cost is £6.99 per book, but discounted to £6 for 3 or more and £5 if 5 or more.

Is it possible to discount across the total number of books bought, for example, if a buyer bought 3 of the first and 2 of the second, it would be £5 each.

Many thanks,

Dave.

Dear Dave,

Thank you for submitting the question here. EShop supports Product Discount feature which works exactly as your expect.

Please read more about it in the documentation here eshopdocs.joomservices.com/catalog/products#product-discount

Sincerely, Giang

Hi there,

Many thanks for your reply. I had read the documentation, but I must have something set up incorrectly.

There are two books, which both have discounts set up as below:

If I buy 4 of one book, the discount works perfectly. However, if I buy 2 of each book, no discount is applied:

Hello David,

The reason because your discount setting is from 3, not from 2. With your settings:

1. If quantity is 3 or 4, then price is 6 per 1 product.
2. If quantity is >=5, then price is 5 per 1 product.

Hope that this is useful so you can change the settings to make it work as your expect.

Sincerely, Giang

I think I understand this. It works if they're purchasing just one type of book, but if they buy 2 copies of Book 1 and 2 copies of Book 2, there is no discount.

Is this not possible?

Hello David,

This setting is separate between products so it is only apply per product. You can not count total quantity of different products to get the discount.

sincerely, Giang
