Webp support?

Hi there
I was wondering if it's possible to use the webp image format for product images?
I added webp and image/webp as both file extension and MIME types in Configuration > Option [File]
When saving a product with a webp image I get the error - 
0 imagecopyresampled(): Argument #2 ($src_image) must be of type GdImage, null given

Dear Martin,

Currently, we don't support webp image type. We added this feature into the todo list. We will implement it soon.
