Wish: Safer and easier selection of custom fields

We have a setup with lots of different types of events and several users adding new events. We also have a big amount of different custom fields used in various events. Selecting suitable custom fields for each event is currently a complicated and problematic process.

Currently:
First, you have to define the basics for the new event, save&close it and then switch to the custom fields, adding them one by one to the event. When selecting what events the field should be used in there is a big risk of removing the previously entered selections if you forget about pressing the ctrl button while selecting! The list is also problematic to scroll when there is a big amount of events. The event has to be published to be available in the list, which means that somebody could register for an event that is not yet complete! Not good!

Our First Wish:
We suggest that you add a new "Custom Fields" tab in the Event details, showing all available custom fields. There should be the name of the custom field and two columns of checkboxes - "Use at registration" and "Show in attendee lists".

That would make it possible to easily handle the selection of custom fields from within the event, before publishing it! No risk of removing other selections, and very clear and efficient to the user. Also, no need to manually add the custom field id on the advanced tab.


Our Second Wish:
It would also be a good addition if you could add a feature to the custom fields to make them compulsory (ie. can not be deselected from "use at registration"). A checkbox "Compulsory field" in the Custom Field details that makes them selected for all new events (but this is not as important as our first wish above).

I'll add my vote to the first wish!

This is turning out to be a real problem. It is in practice too complicated to select custom fields for specific events! People are easily doing mistakes (not pressing ctrl when selecting events) and messing up the selections. We are having continuous problems with this... :sick:

Please, make an improvement to this!
