Any advices on how to upgrade properly? I tried to install it (since Joomla does not show this extension on the list of those to be updated) but I got an error...

Your Joomla installation is too old!

Update to the lastest version which is 3.6.2.

I updated to J3.6 but the problem still continues. See at the end of my message the error message.
In order to make thing more clear what I did before and still is the following:
From the component's page if I click at the last icon (about the updated version) and I am being redirected to the download area, so I just download from there the extension. Then I have to go back to the administration and since the update is not shown at Extensions->Modules->Update I have to install it using another way from the classic automatic way (that's why I asked the previous question). So, I go to the installation menu (as it was a new extension) and then I get the following error. However, I guess that something is incorrect with the procedure above...

There was an error uploading this file to the server.
Maximum PHP file upload size is too small: This is set in php.ini in both upload_max_filesize and post_max_size settings of your PHP settings (located in php.ini and/or .htaccess file).
Unable to find install package

Aris,

It is correct to use the Joomla!-Installer to install the com_eventbooking.zip.

The problem is your webhosting. You either need to ask your webhoster how to inrcease the values of upload_max_filesize and post_max_size or you upload the file via FTP into a directory on the webserver and use the function Extensions > Manage > Install > Tab "install from folder".

But maybe this type of installation will fail as well, so you need to ask your webhoster for help.
