Collect Group member data by event

For some events I would like to have individual member data collected for a group registration. However on other events, for group registration I only need to know the number of participants who are coming, without individual member information.

The ability to customize this on an event by event basis would be great.

Count me in. The more flexible an application or program is, the more indispensable it becomes. Our organization has events that need the names of all attendees, for seating placecards and check-in. Other events just a head count got a caterer. At the moment, you can choose on method or the other, but you can't have events at the same time with both methods! Allowing this setting at the event level fixes the problem.
