Custom fields for Events

1. In the fields.xml file is there a way to define a select list of options, rather than just a text field?

I would like to have an easy to select list of options instead of having to type in text each time.

2. For each event there may be many speakers/teachers. How can I select which of my Joomla contacts are the speaker/teacher?

I would also like to customize the fields for Events.
This feature would be awesome!

You can use any field types from list of field types supported by Joomla core. See docs.joomla.org/Standard_form_field_types to see list of supported field types. For list field type, see docs.joomla.org/List_form_field_type

It is not possible to select a contact for speaker/teacher as this is not supported in Joomla core (need to make some custom development if you want to have support for this option)
