Group Registration OR Shopping Cart?

Hello,
I understand that the shopping cart option and group registration are currently mutually exclusive. I'm wondering if anyone can brainstorm a mini work-around with me. My use cases are:
1) Parent wants to register single child for (potentially) multiple events.
OR
2) Coach wants to register multiple children for same event.
In sum, no single user needs both the shopping cart and the group registration option. But I can picture different people using both cases. Is there a way to set up different instances of EB with different configuration options but the same set of events? Or another path that someone can suggest?

Unfortunately, there is no way to make a different instances of EB, right now, you can only have an instance of EB installed on one site.

So you will need to decide what method you will use Enable or Disable Shopping Cart feature.
