Latest PHP version supported?

My hosting provider is requiring we update php versions (we have a few choices):
5.4
5.5
5.6 (they recommend)
7.0
I currently need to run EB 2.1.1 AND 2.3.1, php suggestion for each please?

In my development computer, I use PHP 5.5.17. I haven't tested it with PHP 5.6 and 7.0 yet, but it should work with PHP 5.6, too

For PHP 7.0, I will have to test it before confirming it works. You cannot use PHP 7 now becauses Joomla is not compatible with it yet, so I guess you should use PHP 5.5 or PHP 5.6

I will make sure I test it with PHP 7.0 before Joomla 3.5.0 released (3.5.0 is the first Joomla version supports PHP 7.0)

As they are recommending 5.6 I'd be especially interested in hearing your test results. I have no idea how to test/confirm php compatibility, or I'd do it myself.

It will take time for me to test it. I don't think I can test it until the end of next week as I am working on some developments now

FYI: I've been using PHP 5.6.16 for a while without issue.

Thanks Dan for the feedback. So my remaining tasks would be test and make sure Events Booking is compatible with PHP 7 before Joomla 3.5 release (in the next month)
