Can events select whic hdays want to register was created by Richard
Dear All
I bought the events booking module but I think I may have made a mistake, as one of the reasons I bought it was to do bookings for our training days and I think it may not do what we need .
Let me explain. We have a form at the moment that gets basic details such as name, email, and training days wished to book.
So :
Name (textfield)
Email (emailfield)
Training days to book :
IP Training : Pre-sales (tick box, books over 1 day) Sales (tick box, books over two days)
IT Training : Pre-sales (tick box, books over 1 day) Sales (tick box, books over two days)
(all booking dates are different days)
I dont think it can do it, or can it and Im missing it. The system seems to work on booking a day, or number of days in a row, rather than letting you book on one form which days you want to participate in?
Regards
RIchard

Hi RIchard
Not sure I understand your requirement correctly or not (it is late here and I am quite tired) but I think you can create custom fields to handle this requirement. See eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-setup/custom-fields/
Could you please try ?
If it doesn't work, please explain what doesn't work (let me know your details requirement). I will try to think about it to see whether we have a solution. If not, we will refund your money, don't worry

No Probs
I have an event (we call it Training day 2016)
The event has 4 parts to it, spread over 6 days.
- Training for IP has two parts (Part 1 is 1 day only) (Part 2 is 2 day total)
- Training for IT has two parts (Part 3 is 1 day only) (Part 4 is 2 day total)
So the event is 6 days total.
lets say :
1st April - Part 1
2nd to 3rd April - Part 2
10th April Part 3
11th to 12th April Part 4
So when they book for the event they can choose which parts they wish to book.
The form might look like :
FIrst Name :
email Addess
Training required:
Part 1 (tick box) Part 2 (tick box)
Part 3 (tick box) Part 4 (tick box)
This would them book the days they wish to participate in.
Does that make sense?

You *can* do this with Event Booking. The way I think I would set it up would be:
- Setup my event, with the event dates to span the full number of days, April 1 - April 12 (Or you can set it to the first day, last day, whatever you think best. You can hide the dates later if you choose -- just ask how ). Save & Close.
- create a new custom field, and set [event] to your event, [field type] to checkboxes, and enter your 4 items (one per line) into the [values] box Save & Close. Back at the Custom Fields list, sort by order, and reorder your custom field to the top of the list. .

Alternately, you can try looking for a different component (for example, a Course Booking component) that might better do what you want.

thank you james I will give that a try first, but you may be right, I think this module is ok for consecutive days booking, but may not quite fit what I require and may need a courses type component, but will have a go!
