Image thumbs - quality loss after auto-resizing

Hi there

I have some events in a time-line layout. Whenever I upload a image for that event, it will be resized to the thumbnail size (lets say 150x100px). However, it's get unsharp and looses quality.
When I resize it to a bigger size (360x240px) and resize it with a CSS entry to 150x100px it looks perfectly fine.

Is there a reason for this issue or any workaround (expect CSS entries)?

There's Thumbnail width and height fields at the bottom right of the "Configuration > General tab" that should change those for you.

Tuan may be able to help with the compression code for the thumbnail. In the meanwhile, does saving the logo as a JPG at maximum quality and using that file create a clearer thumbnail?

To be honest, the extension just uses Joomla core API for resizing image and I don't know why the quality of the thumbnail was lost. Could you please send me the original image which you are using to upload? I will then try to test it on my local computer to see whether I can see the problem, then we can discuss about it further
