discount setting with group and individual

I've attached a word doc because it has some extra screen caps.

What I want to do is have an event with individual and group registration. Two levels of discount. A normal member will get 100% or $15 off his/her monthly event.

I'm on Event Booking version 1.6.10,

the event is $15

A member of Member (Active) should get in free
A member of Corp (active) can have up to three people for free.

However, a member of Member (active) can register as a group and get multiple people in for free.


I tried using the two groups with different dollar amounts and the checkout gives the full amount discounted for someone in and it should only discount $15 (or just one person)



if I change the dollar amount to $10, I think I can see the problem


It will give $10 off per person and not the total.


is there anyway for the discount to work on the total amount instead of per person?

In the latest version, for each event, there is a setting called Members discount apply for

You can set it to Each registration and that 10$ discount amount will be added for the registration (not depends on number of members in the group) and it would solve your concern

So if that is what you need, you can purchase and update your site to latest version of Events Booking to have that option. Note that latest version of Events Booking is only compatible with Joomla 3, you still use version 1.6.0 was purchased from 2014, so I am unsure what Joomla version you are using

I'm not trying to set a $10 discount. I want an individual discount to work for 100% but with only one person.

I want group discount to be 100%, but limited to a certain value. I can use the $ discount instead, but it don't work as demonstrated above because an individual will get the same discount even though they are not part of that Joomla group. .

I'll happily update if the new version fixes the problem. I'm on Joomla 3 so I can update

I understand your requirement now. Unfortunately, even latest version does not support it, so you cannot configure the extension to have it works like that.

If you need it, the only way is customizing the extension to have it works as you want

what about limiting the discount only to individual registration and not group?

an event is $15 and members get in for free, but with group registration enabled.. members can get a whole group in for free as well.

If I could only have the discount apply to individual registration, group registration users can use a coupon code.

That will still need code customization but that should not be hard (disable Members Discount for group registration). In case you purchase latest version and update, you can submit a support ticket so that we can help with that customization. It won't be lost when you update to future releases, so don't worry
