Prevent New Registration After Waiting List Starts and Someone Cancels

Hi Tuan,
When using the waiting list, we are experiencing the following senario:
  1. an event registration reaches capacity and registration is suspendedthe waiting list is activated
  2. the waiting list is activated
  3. an existing registrant cancels
  4. registration is re-opened showing one slot available
  5. a new registration is accepted bypassing and superceding those on the waiting list

This renders the waiting list almost useless. How can we prevent this?

I agree that registration should not be opened in this case. This is not a quick and easy fix, so please give me sometime. I will try to address it in the next release

Hello,

I have the same issue.
I would like only the first one from the waiting list being advice if someone cancel.
Or to forbid mail and control by myself you is adviced.

Currently, the system will email everyone from waiting list. So if you want, you need to disable the email (by going to Events Booking -> Emails & Messages, empty the subject of the email) and then handle everything manually yourself

Ok thanks, may you just confirm that removing subject on this field is ok?

"Registrant waitinglist notification email subject"

And may you confirm, this does not work currently:

1. Yes, that's the correct subject you should empty

2. The plugin does work. But no payment will be processed when users is moved from waiting list to registrants

I like the way it works at the moment, ie: booking is open to everyone after a cancellation. I don't use all of the waiting list system, ie. I email the waiting list myself and they need to go to my site and fully register.
