Dynamic "thank you" text in e-mail messages

I have used EShop to build an e-commerce website for one of my clients, and they would like to be able to include a dynamic "thank you" message into the Customer Notification Email message, based on whether the customer has previously ordered.

• If the customer has not previously ordered, they would like the e-mail to include the text "Thank you for shopping with us."
• If the customer has previously ordered, they would like the e-mail to include the text "Thank you for shopping with us again. We appreciate your repeat business!"

Could this possibly be added via a new variable, called something like [PREVIOUS_CUSTOMER_TEXT], which I could put into the Customer Notification Email template? It would also be nice to be able to configure what both of the messages are, somewhere in the EShop back-end.
