JoomDonation Captcha Feature

Hello Tuan,

I am using JoomDonation Version 2.7.2 with Joomla 1.5xxx
I am having lot of failure attempts on my Donation. I can see lot of failure attempts in authorize.net account.
I think those are Robots, but not sure.

Can you please add Captcha feature so that i can prevent bots from submitting the form.
Also i saw the forum and found someone has the same issue and you replied of implementing captcha in next version which is 13
I don't get this, as my version of JoomDonation is 2.7.2....Please explain.

Hi nmau

Right now, Captcha is not available in Joom Donation. However, a securtity token has added to the extension to prevent Robots to make donation automatically.

In some time next week, I will implement captcha feature into the extension .

My clients donation form was hit by bots looking to validate cc numbers. A captcha feature is critical. Can a 3rd party captcha module work with Joom Donation? When is this feature expected?

In most cases, the bots tring to make donation with small amount (something like 0.01$ or 0.1$). So the solution to prevent that problem is :

1. Upgrade to latest version (2.8.1) .

2. Go to Joom Donation -> Configuration, increase Minimum Donation amount to something like 5$ or something like that .


I believe with the two securities check available in the extension will solve frauds donations issue .

+ Checking minimum donation amount .

+ Checking security code (a hidden code added to donation form and the system check for that code before processing donation). This feature was added from version 2.7.2

I will implement captcha feature into the extension in the next two weeks ! For now, just upgrade to version 2.8.1 and everything will work fine .

Everyone watch their sites. There is a hacker out their posting thousands of transaction fraudulently. Using a name of Gloria Woskow. JoomDonation needs major security enhancement fast.

My site was hit by the person. Many of the transactions were very large.

Cannot wait 2 weeks for captcha.

www.keycaptcha.com/ is compatible w joom donation. It was easy to install -- lets hope it solves this problem...

If you do a search on that name in Google you will have the first 5 pages of JoomDonation sites that were hit. We had over 1000 transaction that were run overnight. Not sure how they would have found each of us.

The captcha feature is now implemented. You can simply upgrade to version 2.8.1 of the extension (just updated the download package few minutes ago) . After that, please go to Joom Donation -> Configuration, set Enable Captcha to Yes and captcha will be available !
