Option to delete expiried subscription on renewal

At the moment when a subscription is renewed a new subscription is created and the previous subscriptions are retained. I would like to see an option to enable automatic deletion (or just update) the expiring subscription.

I would prefer this to update the existing subscription. if a member fails to renew after taking a dbase backup they are deleted. the user account is automatically disabled on expiry of the subscription.
