Could not instantiate mail function. - Error

I'm getting this error each time a user tries to register for a subscription. I never receive the notice of their registration, but it doesn't seem to prevent them from actually registering.

Hi

I am afraid of there is something with the mail server of your site. Could you please go to Users-> Users Manager, create a new user to see whether that user receive email or not ?

If that user doesn't receive email, there must be something wrong with your mail server. In this case, you will need to contact your hosting provider and ask them to check it for you !

we are also getting this SAME error on our site and its is NOT the mail server in our case as the forgot user password link works just fine - the error "Could not instantiate mail function." us explicitly coming form inside your component. We are also opening up a support ticket as well as this is a CRITICAL issue for us.
