External site to check user subscription

Hi there,
Would you be able to advise if it is possible to have an external web service use the API to check if a user has a valid subscription and return a true or false.

I'd like to allow a joomla user with a certain valid subscription access to an external site by asking them to sign in with their Joomla username password.

Would you advise if this is possible and if so provide some guidance.

It is not possible at the moment. It doesn't have a public API which you can use. However, I think we can add some kind of support for it, it should not be so hard

Question: When you make the API call, what will you pass into the call ? Username and password of the user ? Or just ID of user ?

Please give me more information so that I can think and add support for it

It would need to be Username and Password in our case.

I'm not too hot on authentication so not sure if relevant but would OAuth2 be an option as I then believe it would open up a whole host of possible connections for the tools outside of our specific case.

I know you have a hundred and one things to do but would you be able to let me know in principle if this is something that you can do or is already in the roadmap.

I'm about to purchase the subscription and it would be great to know if this will be in a future development or not.

I can confirm that it will be in the future development of the extension. However, I think we can only available it fully supported in the extension in about 3 to 4 months. So if you need it soon, maybe you will need to find an extension which supports it out of the box

Yes. I do. However, not this month as I want to update the documentation and finish the features I want to add to the extension. So if you want to hire me for custom development, you should wait me until next year !
