Faulty expiry message was created by Mark
A subscriber of mine has just received a membership expiry message from Membership Pro (my version is a little old at 2.1.0) even though she has a new subscription that is active.

The new subscription was taken out on the 29th of January this year and the old subscription ran out on the 12th of March (this year).

The information line in the email she received today (25th of March) was
Code:
Your subscription will expire on 12-03-2016 (which is in -13 from now).

Hi Mark

It might be a bug in the extension which causes this issue. I am going to review the code to see why it could happen and then address it

I will update you with the result next week

Regards,

Tuan

Hi Tuan,

Did you ever find out about this?
It is still happening on 2.5.0. Has it been fixed in 2.6?

Hi Mark

At least for subscribers renew from now on (when you update to version 2.6.0), the issue won't happen anymore

Tuan

Mark, do you have any backups of your site? I had something similar happen to a few members recently. I am not 100% sure but I believe the emails were sent because I had a live (but 'offline') backup of the site sitting on a dev/test server. Even though I had the frontend of the backup site switched offline, I think the emails were generated when I logged into the backup site to look at it (as they were sent on the day I logged in). I could never confirm this but it seemed to make sense. I removed the backup off the server. Mark, please check this is not the case with you. Hope this helps

Hmm, that's a point.
I have several alternative (development and test) sites.. I usually turn email off for the non-live ones, I wonder.
Good point, thanx!
