Custom Field stopped "carryover" on renewal

Custom Field stopped "carryover" on renewal was created by John Kaminski
For some reason, on Dec 17, one of my custom fields suddenly stopped being carried over to the new subscription when a member renewed.  I am having to copy/paste that custom field from the previous (expired) subscription. My other custom fields are propagating correctly, even the ones who have "Populate Data From Previous Membership" set to no.
Any ideas of what I did wrong?

Hi John

Maybe something special with that custom field. You can submit a support ticket sending me super user account of the site and tell me ID of the field so that I can check the setup

I found out what happened.  One of my colleagues told me to check what else I was doing on that date.  I looked through my records and found that I had changed that custom field's property "Show On Membership Form"  to NO.  I changed it back to YES and now that field carries over on a renewal.  Sorry to have bothered you but I did not expect that behavior for a "show" property.
