Currency Conversion not working on live site

So the currency conversion system was working on localhost,
but when I uploaded my site on hosting server, it stopped working.

Whenever I click on convert currency it gives me 0

Any ideas?

Hi Lynda,
I have checked in your site. You removed the default currencies of OS Property and you added 2 new currencies. But the main problem is we get the currency converting function from Google API, and the API doesn't recognize the currency codes you entered. So it returns null with the amount and your currency codes. Please check again to correct the currency codes.

Sorry for the late reply, been a bit busy.
Thank you for looking into my problem. But the issue was not in the currencies, since the same scenario is working fine locally, it's just not working on the hosting server. I also tested it on another hosting and it worked fine.

So my guess is that the hosting server is somehow blocking the ftp connection that gets the exchange rate.
Anyway, I solved this by a workaround, and since I'm only using 3 currencies, I put the rates as fixed values. (temporary solution)
