Does this also enable the Paypal Advanced (seamless) gateway?

Are these payments process secured on paypals site, or should we invest in SSH?

It doesn't work with Paypal Advanced. For Paypal Pro, users will enter credit card information directly on your site to process payment, so your site should have an SSL certificate so that the data will be encrypted before transfering and it is secure.

If you want users to be redirected to Paypal to process payment, simply use Paypal standard.
