For my registration, I have a custom field that uses the date format and I have it set as a required field. I had someone just register for the event but there were no values saved even though the registrant said he selected a date (which he would have had to since it was a required field). I'm not sure why there was no data saved.

Could you please try it yourself to see whether you see the same issue? If Yes, then submit a support ticket sending us:
1. Super admin account of the site
2. Link to registration form
3. Tell us what date you select (exactly the value of the date, maybe the user entered date in wrong format)
We will check to see why the issue happens and get it sorted
